Faye Bernstein & Associates (FBA) is a San Francisco based structural engineering firm that was established in 1984. The firm has provided the following services on a variety of commercial, historic, government, transportation, and hydrological structures: seismic investigations, evaluations and retrofits; preliminary design; structural design and analysis; preparation of construction documents; independent review; construction administration; and innovative structural design. Many of our projects are performed under unusually rigid budgets, schedules, and functional constraints. FBA prides itself on its ability to provide unique, yet cost-effective solutions to complex structural problems. Numerous innovative solutions have been developed for our retrofit projects which allowed our clients to continue operation during construction. FBA's drafting capabilities include AutoCAD Release 2002 and Microstation/J. FBA utilizes extensive in-house analysis software such as SAP 2000, ETABS, SAFE, RECOL, SEISAP, POSTEN, ORTHO, SIMQKE, EQSPEC, and STRESS. FBA also utilizes the following non-linear energy dissipation programs, as well as a state-of-the-art base isolation programs: SAP 2000 Non-linear, ANSR, 3DBASIS, PC LEADER, and ISOLATE. Additionally, we have developed an extensive in-house library of AutoLisp routines , macros, and customized menu systems, resulting in efficient drawing production and management. FBA is a woman-owned firm (WBE) certified by the San Francisco Human Rights Commission (SF HRC), and various other agencies throughout the United States.
